Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, stating that the conflict does not favor Ukraine.

He noted that the repercussions of Israeli strikes on Iran are already observable, particularly in the rise of oil prices, which he indicated benefit Russia.

Zelensky remarked, 'This factor certainly does not work in our favor.'

He also expressed concerns regarding the potential escalation of violence in the Middle East, suggesting it could lead to a decrease in Western support for Ukraine.

'We have nothing against the relationship between the United States and Israel, but I would hope it does not negatively impact assistance to Ukraine,' he added.

During the night of June 13, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a wide-ranging military operation, targeting military objectives and facilities associated with Iran's nuclear program.

Israeli officials claimed that the operation aimed to eliminate what they described as an existential threat to the Israeli state, as intelligence assessments indicated that Iran was dangerously close to a 'point of no return' in developing nuclear weapons.

Israeli aircraft conducted multiple waves of attacks across various regions of Iran, including Tehran, where Iranian media reported the fatalities of senior military officials and several nuclear physicists.

Key targets included the nuclear facility in Natanz and Iranian military bases located in the country's northwest.

In response, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the Israeli strikes as a crime, warning that Israel would face a 'bitter and terrible fate.' The Islamic Republic, through its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced retaliation operations under the name 'Sincere Promise 3,' aimed at military targets within Israel.
