The automaker provides promotional incentives equivalent to employee discounts in response to tariffs imposed by President Trump.
Stellantis, the multinational automotive corporation that includes brands such as Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, and Jeep, has announced that it will offer American customers discounts similar to those given to its employees.
This initiative is a response to new tariffs introduced by President
Donald Trump, as stated by Jodi Tinson, the company's media relations director for North America.
As of April 4, Stellantis has launched an aggressive and consistent incentive program for the month of April, which Tinson described as providing customers with 'American freedom of choice' between employee pricing and current cash incentives.
Customers are encouraged to visit their local dealers to determine the best vehicle offers, according to Tinson.
This promotion is set to run until April 30.
Stellantis was formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), an Italian-American automotive manufacturer, and the French company Groupe PSA (Peugeot Société Anonyme).
The corporation is headquartered in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
Previously, President Trump announced the introduction of 'reciprocal' tariffs on imports from foreign countries.
The basic minimum rate is set at 10 percent, with each country having a calibrated tariff that is half of the rate charged to companies importing American goods.
For imports from the European Union, the tariff currently stands at 20 percent.
According to Trump, these tariffs are intended to establish a 'declaration of economic independence' for the United States and are projected to help utilize 'trillions of dollars' in paying off the national debt.
Trump also revealed a 25 percent tariff on all foreign imported vehicles, effective immediately.
