The 'Al Week,' a regional and international festival focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), commenced in Belgrade on Monday and will continue until June 10. Organized by Startit, the event gathers leaders from the IT industry and startup communities from the region and various European countries.
Vukašin Stojkov, the founder of Startit, emphasized the profound and multifaceted impact of AI on society.
He stated that the arrival of AI represents both a significant opportunity and a challenge, highlighting the necessity for society to prepare thoroughly for its implications.
Stojkov articulated the goal of 'Al Week' to foster awareness and education regarding the integration of AI into everyday applications and IT models.
Over the course of the festival, which spans ten days, approximately 20 events will feature experts from across Europe sharing their knowledge with the local community.
The emphasis will be on equipping attendees with the skills needed to adapt to the advancements in AI technology and the development of relevant applications.
Stojkov noted that the rapid transformation brought about by AI requires urgent action to address the associated implications.
He remarked on AI's accessibility, allowing individuals who previously lacked technical expertise in IT to contribute meaningfully to the creation of applications and solutions.
He further pointed out that while those already skilled in IT may have an advantage, the opportunity for creative and entrepreneurial individuals to engage with this technological wave is significant.
The festival welcomes participants of all age groups, encouraging a broad range of attendees.
Stojkov mentioned the presence of participants ranging from teenagers to individuals over the age of 60, underlining the universal relevance of AI technology and its impact on everyone.
Jaroslav Koptin, the organizer of the event 'Data Sanity,' stated that the festival aims to foster connections among experts from diverse industries and communities.
The event seeks to unify Serbian, Russian-speaking communities, and other international scientists and enthusiasts interested in AI.
During the eight-day festival, Belgrade will host experts from across the continent to work alongside local partners to illuminate a future where AI is not merely a potential but a current reality shaping the technological, business, and social landscape.
'Al Week' features a robust schedule that includes 20 various events, a two-day conference, two hackathons, and over 30 lectures held at multiple venues throughout Belgrade.
The festival expects to attract more than 1,000 visitors from Serbia and the surrounding region.
