The incident occurred at Morristown Municipal Airport as Trump prepared to depart for Camp David.
On Sunday, U.S. President
Donald Trump stumbled while ascending the staircase to board Air Force One at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey, an incident that quickly gained traction on social media platforms.
The incident occurred shortly after Trump had an exchange with journalists in Maryland regarding the potential use of the Insurrection Act in response to protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles.
In his remarks, Trump stated, "It depends on whether there will be an insurrection or not," and responded to a journalist's inquiry about whether he believed an insurrection was underway by saying, "No, no, but you have violent people.
And we will not let them get away with it."
When asked if he would deploy troops without invoking the Insurrection Act, Trump declared, "We will have troops everywhere.
We will not allow this to happen to our country.
We will not allow our country to be broken like it was under Biden."
Notably, shortly after Trump’s stumble, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also tripped on the same staircase, creating a striking coincidence as he nearly fell in the same area where Trump had just stumbled.
Previously, Trump had mocked former President
Joe Biden for his own missteps during Biden's tenure, recalling instances when Biden tripped and fell during public events, including a graduation ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.
During that incident, Biden received assistance quickly and managed to return to his position without further aid.
