A 39-year-old man is held for the alleged murder of his elderly parents in a shocking incident that has left the community in disbelief.
Authorities in Cacak, Serbia, have arrested a 39-year-old man, identified as M.B., on suspicion of committing a double murder.

The suspect is accused of killing his 77-year-old father and 72-year-old mother with a sharp object in their parental home.

The incident reportedly occurred late on the evening prior to the arrest.

Following the alleged crime, the suspect fled the scene, prompting an immediate search by local police.

He was apprehended in the village of Svračkovci, approximately 20 kilometers from Cacak, not long after the incident.

In accordance with a directive from the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Cacak, the suspect is being held for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the relevant judicial authorities along with the criminal charges against him.

Witnesses at the scene have reported seeing blood stains in the building, indicating the violent nature of the crime.

Local residents expressed shock and disbelief at the incident, noting that the victims were well-regarded members of the community.

One neighbor remarked on the horror of waking up to such news and noted that the victims were previously employed in the public health sector.

The motive for the alleged crimes remains unclear as authorities continue their investigation.
