Dubai Defeats Partizan 80-72 in ABA Liga Showdown

In a highly anticipated rematch, Dubai secures a significant victory over Partizan, impacting the standings in the ABA Liga.
In an exciting ABA Liga encounter on November 10th, Dubai emerged victorious against Partizan with a score of 80-72, marking a significant victory for the team.

The win placed Dubai at a record of 18 wins and 5 losses while maintaining their third position in the league, while Partizan remains at the top with 20 wins and 3 losses and has already secured a playoff spot.

The match was closely watched, especially with the presence of EuroLeague director Paulijus Motiejunas in attendance.

Dubai started strong, controlling the game from the outset and outpacing Partizan, who struggled to find their rhythm early on.

At one point in the first half, Dubai built a lead of 15 points.

Despite a push from Partizan towards the end of the third quarter, sparked by Brendon Davis’s half-court shot, they never managed to regain the lead.

Captain Vanja Marinković made a significant contribution with a three-pointer, narrowing the gap to three points at one moment.

However, a crucial response from Klemen Prepelič, who hit a three-pointer from eight meters out, reaffirmed Dubai's hold on the game.

For Partizan, Karlik Džons led the scoring with 16 points and five assists, while Brendon Davis closely followed with 15 points.

On the opposing side, Dubai's Avudu Abas was the standout player, scoring 14 points.

Serbian player Danilo Anđušić contributed with 13 points, and Nate Mason added 12 points and six assists.

Throughout the first half, Dubai showcased control over the game, heading into halftime with a 12-point lead at 41-29. Partizan made attempts to close the gap, including a brief run that brought them within striking distance of five points at 38-43. However, Dubai quickly answered with a three-pointer by Abas, extending their lead to 11 points.

The final quarter saw Partizan make a late push, narrowing the score to three points at 60-63 with 4:40 remaining.

Nonetheless, Dubai responded effectively, pulling ahead once again with a series of successful plays, ultimately preventing a comeback from Partizan.

This match was notable not only for its competitive nature but also as it served as a rematch following Partizan's earlier win in Belgrade, where they defeated Dubai 82-61. In their next matches, Partizan will host Mornar, while Dubai will travel to face Krka.
