A Las Vegas dealership suffers significant damage as a suspect uses explosives and firearms against displayed Tesla vehicles.
In Las Vegas, an unidentified assailant launched an attack on several
Tesla vehicles at a company dealership, utilizing Molotov cocktails and discharging firearms.
According to local police reports, the incident occurred during the early hours, resulting in damage to at least five
Tesla cars, with two of them reportedly engulfed in flames.
The police stated that a message reading "resistance" was found at the entrance of the
Tesla sales lot.
Witnesses reported that the assailant fired at least three shots into the displayed vehicles prior to fleeing the scene.
Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren indicated at a press conference that this incident appeared to be a targeted attack on the
Tesla facility.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has since assigned an anti-terrorism task force to investigate the incident, with special agent Spencer Evans confirming that agents have been on the ground since the early morning hours.
While Evans refrained from labeling the attack definitively as an act of terrorism, he noted that it exhibited "some characteristics of terrorism" and suggested that there could be a potential political motivation behind it.
He emphasized the unacceptability of violent acts, regardless of the context in which they occur.
Tesla's showrooms have become focal points for protests across the United States as the company, led by billionaire
Elon Musk, has faced various challenges.
Musk heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been working to reduce expenditures in U.S. federal services, leading to the layoff of thousands of employees and the cancellation of hundreds of federal contracts.
