Dragan Đilas, the president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP), addressed the public regarding recent political tensions in Serbia, particularly focusing on the controversial visit of Miloš Pavlović to Studentski grad.

Đilas characterized Pavlović's presence in the area as a premeditated provocation, urging opponents of President Aleksandar Vučić to refrain from resorting to violence.

He emphasized the importance of demonstrating a clear moral distinction from the ruling authorities.

On March 15, during an incident intended to provide protection for Pavlović, a group described by Đilas as composed of armed individuals and criminals allegedly gathered in Pionirski Park.

This event has heightened concerns surrounding public safety and political discourse.

Đilas stated that Pavlović’s appearance in Studentski grad, an environment with potential risks for his peers, was purposefully orchestrated to incite confrontation.

Despite this, he stressed that any violent response directed at Pavlović and his companions is unjustifiable.

Reports thus far indicate that Pavlović was doused with water and that cans were thrown at his group, which has led to discussions regarding the limits of protest and public engagement.

Đilas reiterated the principles of nonviolent resistance and truth as the most potent tools against the current administration, urging activists to maintain these ideals unwaveringly.

He further criticized the government's narrative surrounding Pavlović's recent experiences, likening it to a scripted drama directed by President Vučić, with Pavlović’s sudden appearance in a café—where he had reportedly not been for three months—occurring immediately after a violent incident involving a student named Marko Živković.
