Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has hosted Hungarian Prime Minister
Viktor Orban in Belgrade as part of a working visit intended to reinforce relations between Serbia and Hungary.
During a video address posted on social media, Vučić emphasized the significance of their bilateral ties, describing Orban as 'much more than a friend' and expressing gratitude for his contributions to the strong relationship currently enjoyed by both nations.
The meeting is characterized by the leaders as a strategic dialogue covering several important topics.
Vučić stated, 'Each time I see Viktor, I learn a lot from him.
I have immense respect for him, and it is a sincere, good, and real friendship with Serbia.' He further noted that their countries are experiencing the best relations in history, attributing this success to mutual efforts.
Orban, addressing the Serbian citizens, humorously acknowledged his lack of proficiency in the Serbian language and affirmed his agreement with Vučić's previous statements in English.
'I did not understand what my friend Aleksandar said, but I trust him enough to agree with everything he said,' Orban remarked.
The discussions between the two leaders were highlighted by Vučić, who indicated that the meeting would involve consultations on four significant themes: geopolitical context and foreign policy, economic relations and their enhancement, cooperation in defense and security, including military-industrial production, and partnership in other fields.
This visit underscores the ongoing commitment to strengthening the ties between the two neighboring countries.
