Serbian Man Arrested for Assaulting Partner in Danilovgrad

A 42-year-old woman is hospitalized with severe injuries following an alleged domestic violence incident involving her partner.
A 42-year-old woman, identified as A.V., was transported to the Clinical Center of Montenegro in a state of unconsciousness, suffering from severe head and chest injuries, as reported by the police in Danilovgrad.

Emergency services alerted the authorities after responding to a domestic incident at her residence.

Medical examinations confirmed that A.V. sustained life-threatening injuries, prompting immediate involvement from law enforcement.

Officers from the Danilovgrad Security Department conducted a scene investigation and initiated further criminal, tactical, and forensic measures.

During their operational work, police identified the suspect, D.R., also 42 years old, from Novi Sad, Serbia.

He is reported to be the emotional partner of A.V. Following a search, D.R. was located within the territory of Podgorica in cooperation with officials from the Podgorica Security Department.

During the investigation, police noted visible injuries on D.R., documented by a medical report.

According to allegations, D.R. brought alcohol and hand-rolled cigarettes containing marijuana to A.V.’s home, making them available for consumption.

After the couple reportedly consumed alcohol and drugs, a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, during which D.R. inflicted serious injuries on A.V.

Upon realizing A.V. was incapacitated, D.R. fled the scene, leaving behind a minor child of A.V. without supervision.

Following the gathering of information and completion of preliminary investigation procedures, D.R. was detained on suspicion of committing domestic violence causing severe bodily harm, as well as for facilitating the use of narcotics to A.V.

Additionally, authorities indicated that a request would be filed for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings against D.R. concerning neglecting A.V.'s child, as per Article 37 of the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence.

He has been brought before the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica for further proceedings.
