Serbian President Calls for Peaceful Resistance Amid Nationwide Discontent

Aleksandar Vučić urges citizens to unite for a free Serbia through non-violent means.
In a recent video address, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that a nationwide call for peaceful resistance will soon be issued to citizens dissatisfied with the current political climate.

Addressing the unrest that has gripped Serbia for the last four months, Vučić emphasized the importance of using democratic methods to advocate for their country, explicitly urging against violence.

The announcement was made during a video statement from the municipal office of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in Zemun, where Vučić highlighted rising public discontent and frustration with what he termed 'terror' imposed upon citizens.

He warned that the authorities have received intelligence suggesting attempts to prevent peaceful protests against prevailing political conduct.

'People in Serbia are no longer afraid of anyone or anything, whether it be blockaders or political terrorists who deploy tear gas in parliament,' Vučić stated confidently on his Instagram account.

He also noted, 'Serbia is rising,' asserting that while individuals may face challenges, the nation has an innate resilience and ability to recover swiftly and fight for its future.

In addition to addressing the unrest, Vučić reiterated his commitment to restoring Serbia to a state he describes as one that serves its 'decent people.' He asserted that the populace is weary of what he termed the aggressions they have faced over the past months.

He urged citizens to avoid violence while standing firm against those undermining and destroying the country.

'We will work to ensure that those who do not contribute do not triumph over those who are dedicated to the nation’s advancement.

You can be certain that courage will not be lacking, and that the seeds of strength and resistance will continue to grow,' Vučić declared.

He concluded his message with a firm statement: 'Expect a call soon.'
