In a high-profile trial at the Higher Court in Belgrade, witness Milan Radić testified about his observations on April 2, 2016, the day Jelena Marjanović was murdered.

Radić, a cyclist, reported seeing a man and a woman descending toward a canal on the Crvenka dyke in Borča. He described the couple as moving at a normal pace, with the woman walking slightly sideways due to the steepness of the terrain while the man walked directly forward.

The woman was said to be wearing a light-colored tracksuit, either orange or red, while the man wore dark camouflage pants.

Radić, who stated he was approximately 150 to 200 meters away, mentioned that he could not positively identify the couple as Zoran and Jelena Marjanović, despite having seen their photographs in the media.

He noted, "There was a distance of two to three meters between them, and they were not in contact.

Nothing led me to stop or think something was wrong.

I did not see a child or a third person with them."

Further details revealed that at the time of her murder, Jelena Marjanović was wearing a light blue tracksuit, which was discovered at the crime scene the following day, alongside her body found in the canal.

The cause of death was identified as multiple blows to the back of her head.

Presiding judge Ivana Ramić informed the court that a decision has not yet been reached regarding the potential testimony of Jana Marjanović, the couple's daughter, who, according to the prosecution, was present at the dyke on the day of the incident.

Presently, Jana is 14 years old, and the court has decided to review her previous statements made to the prosecution before determining if she will be summoned for questioning in the courtroom.

Additionally, Jelena Marjanović's aunt, Ljubica Marković, reiterated her earlier statements both in court and to the prosecution.

The trial is set to continue on September 18, where Zorica Gemović, Jelena Marjanović’s hairdresser, is expected to testify.
