Teodora Marču, a 24-year-old former contestant on the popular Romanian reality show "Insula Iubirii" (Love Island), was tragically murdered on Friday evening in the Kosmopolis neighborhood of Ilfov County, Romania.
The victim was four months pregnant at the time of the incident and was reportedly holding hands with her two daughters when the attack occurred.
Eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage indicate that a man approached Marču directly and shot her in the chest from a very close range.
Upon her falling to the ground, the assailant fired two additional shots, one of which hit her in the abdomen.
A friend of the victim managed to take the baby from Marču's arms and sought assistance from bystanders immediately following the attack.
Police and medical teams arrived promptly at the scene and administered first aid; however, Marču was subsequently pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
Shortly after the incident, reports emerged suggesting that the suspect, identified as Marču's former boyfriend, had taken his own life.
The assailant had posted a troubling message on
Facebook prior to the incident, stating, "It’s just a matter of time." Other messages he shared on social media included provocative statements about women, indicating a troubling mindset.
