Russian Drone Strikes in Ukraine: Casualties and Evacuations Reported

Tragic incidents in Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv following drone attacks, with multiple casualties confirmed.
In Zaporizhzhia, emergency operations have concluded following Russian strikes using Shahed drones, according to the State Emergency Service.

Three individuals have been confirmed dead and twelve injured.

The rescue efforts engaged 63 rescuers and 16 units of equipment.

It was reported on the evening of March 21 that the Russian military launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia with twelve Shahed drones.

Regional police have confirmed the occurrence of these attacks.

The strikes targeted a regional center, resulting in fatalities and injuries.

Reports indicate that the drone strikes led to fires and damage to civilian infrastructure, with six multi-story buildings, a private house, a kindergarten, and a hospitality venue sustaining damage.

Initially, reports indicated that nine individuals were wounded, including an infant, and two were confirmed dead—a 41-year-old man and his 14-year-old daughter.

However, the numbers of casualties have since increased.

Emergency services, police, forensic teams, explosive experts, and necessary support services are actively engaged at the scene.

A mobile point for receiving reports from citizens affected by the hostile attack has been set up by the police.

In Kyiv's Podilsk district, four individuals were evacuated from a building that was struck by debris from a Russian drone, as reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.

Klitschko stated that while four people were evacuated, there were currently no reported injuries.

Firefighters were able to localize the fire caused by the debris, and emergency medical teams are on site.

The remains of the hostile drone reportedly caused a fire on the fourth floor of a four-story building in the Podil district.
