Serbian President Vučić Visits Toplica and Jablanica Districts for Infrastructure and Educational Developments

Serbian President Vučić Visits Toplica and Jablanica Districts for Infrastructure and Educational Developments

During his two-day visit, President Vučić announced plans for new schools, kindergartens, and significant road constructions in rural areas.
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, conducted a two-day visit to the Toplica and Jablanica districts, focusing on development projects aimed at improving local education and infrastructure.

On his itinerary was a visit to the Voinović family farm in Zlatanci, located in the municipality of Crna Trava, which specializes in the processing of forest fruits.

Vučić was welcomed by Ana Voinović, with whom he discussed the potential expansion of their business, which currently involves the production of jams, syrups, and teas.

During the visit, Vučić encouraged the Voinović family to consider venturing into rural tourism, highlighting the government's provision of subsidies to facilitate such initiatives.

He also responded positively to local residents' requests for assistance in constructing a youth community center.

The delegation accompanying the President included the Minister of Agriculture in a caretaker capacity, Aleksandar Martinović, the Director of Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak, and the Mayor of Crna Trava.

Conversations with residents from nearby villages revealed a pressing need for road improvements, particularly for children commuting to school and for local farmers engaged in livestock breeding, notably the indigenous breeds of Mangulica pigs and Šaran cows.

In Vlasotince, President Vučić stated that the government would finance the expansion and renovation of a kindergarten at a cost of 120 million dinars.

The renovation is deemed necessary due to a significant backlog, with 202 children on the waiting list this year, and anticipations of over 250 children next year.

Additionally, community members expressed the need for a gymnasium at the primary school and improvements to the sewage systems for 11 local communities, pointing out that despite available project documentation, construction has stalled for four years.

On the issue of flooding caused by the Vlasina River affecting cultivated fields post-winter, Vučić assured residents he would coordinate with 'Srbija vode' to address the problem through river channeling.

During another visit to the Nastić family farm in Stajkovce, Vučić was briefed on their operations in greenhouse vegetable production, including cucumbers, tomatoes, and cabbage.

Family member Ivica Nastić explained that the farm encompasses 1.6 hectares, with half equipped for heating and complete irrigation systems.

The operation produces between 350 to 400 tons of vegetables annually, with 80% sold domestically.

He noted that state subsidies enabled the purchase of farming equipment, such as a tractor.

These engagements reflect ongoing efforts by the Serbian government to bolster rural economies, enhance educational facilities, and address infrastructural deficits in less urbanized areas.
