Significant Channel Reorganization in SBB Following Ownership Transition

Significant Channel Reorganization in SBB Following Ownership Transition

SBB's channel lineup shifts dramatically with the phasing out of Sport Club and alterations in the prominence of channels like N1 and Nova S.
SBB announced on Wednesday the completion of its transition under the ownership of e& PPF Telecom Group, marking a substantial overhaul of its channel offerings for subscribers.

Notably, the Sport Club channel has been discontinued, with its programming, particularly the EuroLeague basketball content, now available through Arena Sport, which is newly accessible on the SBB platform.

Historically, N1 and Nova S have occupied prominent positions within the SBB lineup, having been ranked first.

However, following the recent changes, Nova S has dropped to the eighth position, while N1 is now listed at number ten.

Other channels affiliated with United Media, such as Nova Max, Nova Series, Grand, IDJ, IDJ Kids, Pikaboo, and Brainz, have also experienced realignments in their channel placements.

In a related development, Telekom Srbija's acquisition of the Total TV platform has resulted in similar changes.

On this platform, N1 has been assigned to the 278th position, while Nova S is now at 279.

Both channels, recognized for their critical reporting on the current government, are expected to become accessible to Yettel users.

According to United Media, "The cable operator Yettel can immediately enable its entire user base to watch all channels owned by United Media.

Given the insistence that only they have the right to distribute our channels, we are confident that Yettel will accept our technical assistance to ensure that the most viewed channels from the SBB network – N1 and Nova, are offered to their users as soon as possible."

In addition to these developments, new channels such as Euronews Serbia, K1, Newsmax, Tanjug, Blic TV, and Kurir, which have emerged in recent years, are now available to SBB customers.

Subscribers have also encountered the newly added Informer television channel, which has faced protests from students over the weekend due to allegations of unethical reporting.

These students have initiated a petition seeking the revocation of the channel's city frequency.

Reports indicate that TV Informer has violated broadcasting laws extensively within just two months of receiving its regional broadcasting license, resulting in 15 complaints lodged against it with the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) by the organization Crta.

However, Informer is not a completely new entity on SBB, as several hours of its programming have previously aired daily on pro-government channels like Novosadska televizija.

For SBB users, channel order adjustments can be made via the EON platform.

Users can navigate to "settings" and locate the "my channels" option, where they can add categories for their channels.

Following the naming and confirmation of a new list, users can customize the order and positions of preferred channels.

Additionally, the platform has been updated to include music channels and offers access to Radio 021.

A new category titled 'LOUNGE' has been recommended for enhanced enjoyment and relaxation.
