Crvena Zvezda, currently positioned fourth in the ABA League standings with 19 wins and 6 losses, entered the match with hope to extend their lead in the league.

Meanwhile, Spartak Subotica occupies the seventh spot in the standings, holding a 13-12 record.

The teams previously faced off earlier in the season, with Crvena Zvezda securing a 94-87 victory in their match in Subotica.

However, in this latest encounter, the dynamic shifted decisively in the closing minutes.

Crvena Zvezda held a 77-74 lead with just over a minute remaining, but Umodža Gibson of Spartak responded with a critical three-pointer, leveling the game.

Following a missed shot from Zvezda, Rasir Bolton scored a layup with two seconds left on the clock, giving Spartak a 78-77 advantage.

In the frantic final moments, Zvezda's Nikola Kalinić attempted a last-ditch shot for victory, but his effort fell short, allowing Spartak to clinch the win.

Filip Petrušev stood out for Crvena Zvezda, recording 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist.

He was supported by Nemanja Nedović, who contributed 13 points, and both Kodi Miler-McIntyre and Jago dos Santos added 10 points each.

Despite their individual performances, Zvezda struggled with their shooting, making only 6 of 25 attempts from beyond the arc and shooting 39% overall from the field.

For Spartak, Umodža Gibson led the game with 21 points, hitting all 5 of his three-point attempts, alongside 2 rebounds and 3 assists.

Stefan Momirov also had a strong showing with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, while Danilo Nikolić finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds.

Throughout the match, Crvena Zvezda started slowly, relying on their defense to maintain a marginal lead.

They initiated an 11-0 run mid-way through the first quarter, establishing a ten-point advantage of 19-9. However, Spartak clawed back to narrow the deficit to 22-14 by the end of the first period.

Although Zvezda responded momentarily, they ultimately concluded the third quarter trailing 64-62.

As the fourth quarter unfolded, the lead exchanged hands multiple times, with Zvezda again gaining a momentary respite at the 77-73 mark but faltering in the closing moments, paving the way for Spartak's narrow victory.

Looking ahead, Crvena Zvezda will face Cibona next before a crucial match against Anadolu Efes in the EuroLeague, while Spartak prepares for a home game against Cedevita Olimpija.
