Milorad Dodik to Return to Republika Srpska Amid Legal Troubles

Milorad Dodik to Return to Republika Srpska Amid Legal Troubles

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, asserts his intention to return to RS following meetings in Moscow with President Vladimir Putin.
Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska (RS), announced his plans to return to RS in the same manner as he left, stating, "Milorad Dodik will not go anywhere.

In Sarajevo, they are flexing their muscles – how will Dodik return?

I will return as I left." This statement was made during an interview with Radio-televizija RS (RTRS), recorded in Moscow after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Dodik indicated that he has additional meetings scheduled in Moscow before his return to RS on Saturday.

He expressed concerns regarding the request from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to Interpol for an international warrant, following his failure to respond to a summons from the BiH Prosecutor's Office related to allegations of an attack on the constitutional order.

Dodik described this move as an attempt by Sarajevo to impede his international activities.

He denied rumors that he requested Russian citizenship, asserting that his visit was solely for the purpose of meeting with President Putin.

He emphasized the significance of their meeting, remarking that it demonstrated a successful trip.

Dodik also stated, "I said that the Dayton Peace Agreement has failed, and that RS intends to become an empty shell, which Putin understands.

I believe we have complete understanding in this regard." Additionally, he mentioned that they discussed the current situation in Serbia, emphasizing the importance of halting external destabilizations believed to be influencing the region.

He conveyed a message of support for legitimate representatives and discussed the actions of the judiciary in BiH, which he claimed operates under the directives of the 'illegitimate' High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.

He expressed concern over the prosecution of himself, the President of the RS Parliament Nenad Stevandić, and RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković, suggesting that these actions would not cease.

Dodik articulated his worries for the future of RS, asserting that his concerns stem from the implications of these legal proceedings on the entity itself rather than his personal situation.

He urged the public not to rely on media narratives from Sarajevo or to fall for perceived deceptions.
