Severe Weather Alerts Issued for Belgrade and Surrounding Regions

Severe Weather Alerts Issued for Belgrade and Surrounding Regions

Moderate to heavy rainfall, local thunderstorms, and a significant drop in temperatures expected across Serbia.
The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia has issued a weather alert, forecasting moderate to heavy cloud cover with intermittent rain and thunderstorms, particularly in higher mountainous areas where snow is expected.

Localized short-duration thunderstorms are anticipated in Vojvodina, complemented by brief downpours.

In Belgrade, brief rain showers have already been reported in certain parts of the city, with forecasts indicating continued variable weather patterns characterized by sporadic rain and possible thunderstorms into the following day (April 2).

Maximum temperatures are projected to reach between 13°C and 19°C through the weekend.

On Saturday evening (April 5), a rapid influx of cooler air from the north is expected across Vojvodina and other regions overnight, bringing rain and potentially severe northeast winds.

In elevated areas, rainfall is likely to transition to snow.

The weather is expected to remain variable, significantly cooler, and windy on Sunday and Monday (April 6-7), with a mix of cloudiness and sunny intervals anticipated.

Additionally, conditions may support the development of snow or sleet showers even in lower-lying areas.

Early next week might experience a slight ground frost in certain regions.

From Tuesday (April 8), a minor increase in daily temperatures is anticipated.

Biometeorological Forecast:
The expected biometeorological conditions may help alleviate symptoms for some chronically ill individuals.

Caution is advised for asthma sufferers, as well as those with cerebrovascular and cardiac ailments.

Mood disturbances, as well as muscle and joint pain, may also be notable meteoropathic reactions.

Increased concentration is recommended for all participants in traffic, given the adverse weather conditions.

Forecast for the Coming Days:
Intermittent rain and local thunderstorms are forecast for Wednesday, with thunderstorms expected to continue, particularly in Southern Serbia.

Rainfall is expected to persist in the south on Thursday, while the driest weather day in the upcoming period is anticipated to be Friday, where most areas are expected to remain dry.

Peak temperatures are again projected to remain in the 13°C to 19°C range.

On Saturday, significant drops in temperature and cooler air masses are expected to move in rapidly from the north, bringing rain and strong, potentially stormy northern and northwestern winds, with snow anticipated in mountainous areas.

Variable conditions are expected to continue into Sunday and Monday, with accompanying cooler temperatures and cold winds, transitioning to instances of snow and sleet showers.

Early next week might also experience localized weak ground frost, followed by a slight increase in daily temperatures starting on April 8.
